Procedures for attesting documents and papers in the Kingdom of Bahrain

I have a document issued in the Kingdom of Bahrain and I want to use it abroad, what are the procedures to be followed?

1- Attestation of the document by the issuer.

2- Attestation of the document in the relevant ministry/government authority. (If necessary)

3- Translating the document to an accredited translation office. (if necessary)

4- Translation stamp at the Notarization Office – Ministry of Justice. (If necessary)

5- Stamping the document at the Legalization Office- Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

I have a document issued outside the Kingdom of Bahrain and I want to use it inside the Kingdom of Bahrain, what are the procedures to be followed?

1- Attestation of the document by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country of origin, then attesting it at the Bahraini embassy or consulate therefrom.

2- Attestation of the document at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

3- Translating the document to an accredited translation office (if necessary).

4- Translation stamp at the Notarization Office – Ministry of Justice. (If necessary)

What is an apostille certification?

An apostille is a certificate issued that exempts the document from the certification requirements applicable to foreign documents. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the only authority competent to issue an apostille certificate in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
